UPOV Lex
UPOV Lex is a comprehensive legal database providing information on plant variety protection worldwide. This database contains the different Acts of the UPOV Convention as well as the following documents notified by UPOV members in accordance with the UPOV Convention:
- Legislation
- Accessions and ratifications
- List of genera and species protected

GENIE
The GENIE database provides online information on GENera and specIEs (GENIE) in relation to plant variety protection offered by UPOV members. It includes details on experience in testing and the availability of UPOV Test Guidelines.
GENIE also serves as the official repository of all UPOV Codes, which helps address the challenge of synonyms for the same plant taxa. Each plant taxon is assigned a unique code according to the UPOV Code System (the UPOV code), ensuring that all synonyms for the same plant taxa are attributed the same code.
The UPOV codes enhance the usefulness of the UPOV Plant Variety Database (PLUTO Database): enabling users search for crops, regardless of the language and alphabet used by different data contributors.

PLUTO Search
The PLUTO Plant Variety Database contains information on plant varieties from UPOV members and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
In accordance with the UPOV Convention, each protected plant variety must have a name (denomination) that is different from an existing variety of the same plant species or a closely related species. The PLUTO database offers a similarity search tool that helps users perform a preliminary check on whether a denomination is too similar to existing ones within the same Variety Denomination Class.
