Learn online: Anytime, Anywhere
UPOV’s online learning courses are fully web-based, allowing participants to study at their own pace. The courses are flexible and can be undertaken at any time within the 4-week study period.
Each course features comprehensive explanations, interactive diagrams, self-assessment quizzes and end of module tests which provide ample guidance.
Participants also benefit from tutoring by UPOV experts, offering opportunities to seek clarification and engage in meaningful discussions.
The final exam is conducted online during the fifth week of the course, after which successful participants receive an electronic certificate of completion and badge.
This is the first item’s accordion body. It is shown by default, until the collapse plugin adds the appropriate classes that we use to style each element. These classes control the overall appearance, as well as the showing and hiding via CSS transitions. You can modify any of this with custom CSS or overriding our default variables. It’s also worth noting that just about any HTML can go within the
.accordion-body, though the transition does limit overflow.

Courses description
The introductory course, DL-205 “Introduction to the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) System of Plant Variety Protection”, aims to provide a comprehensive description of the main notions, conditions and principles of the protection provided for plant varieties under the UPOV Convention.
The advanced course DL-305 (can be taken in two separate courses DL-305A and DL-305B) aims to provide a basic understanding of the examination of applications for plant breeders’ rights under the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants.
