New Maastricht University Course added to UPOV PVP Certificate Program

Professionals seeking to strengthen their expertise at the intersection of biotechnology and plant variety protection (PVP) can now register by September 7 2025, for the newly added Maastricht University course “Plant Variety Protection and Biotechnology” in the UPOV International Certificate on Plant Variety Protection (UPOV PVP Certificate Program).  

Combining academic depth with practical insights, the course explores the intersection of biotechnology and PVP, expanding the scope of training opportunities available through UPOV.  

This new course also offers participants 10 credits toward the internationally recognized UPOV PVP Certificate, designed to promote knowledge, recognize expertise, and support continuous professional development in PVP worldwide. 

With this expansion, the UPOV PVP Certificate program continues to grow as the leading pathway for professionals seeking advanced, globally recognized training in plant variety protection.  

About the UPOV International Certificate on Plant Variety Protection 

Launched in 2024, the UPOV PVP Certificate promotes the acquisition of knowledge, recognition of expertise, and opportunities for continuous learning on PVP matters. 

The certificate is awarded to individuals that acquire the necessary number of credits from UPOV-endorsed courses and activities. Credits are awarded according to the content and duration of each activity, in agreement with participating Learning Partners.
