The PVP Office will send a confirmation to the applicant by e-mail.
The PVP Office will confirm that the application was successfully received once the payment is done (see payment section). If the payment – for any reason – is not successful then the application would not be considered as successfully submitted
If no DUS examination is required, the applicant will not be requested to send any plant material to the PVP Office.
If a new DUS examination is to be performed, the PVP Office will request an examination office (DUS test) to inform the applicant about the details of sending plant material (address and quantities) in due time [see “Dates for submission” section].
The PVP application fee is to be paid to the Norwegian Plant Variety Board. Relevant information concerning the payment of the application fee is available at http://www.plantesortsnemnda.no/protection

There is no obligation to use a local representative, but all the communication with the PVP Office will be in Norwegian. Unless the applicant knows the Norwegian language, the applicant will need a local representative.
There is currently no list available of accredited/entrusted agents in Norway.
The filing date is considered to be the date when the application is complete and payment received.

There are no deadlines for the submission of applications in Norway. Applications may be submitted at any time.
The Examination offices (DUS test) [see “Plant material” section] will have their own closing dates however. The PVP Office will request the DUS test to be conducted by one of the Examination offices entrusted by the CPVO.
